Terms and Conditions
All submitted films must be suitable for a young audience (ages 3–16).
The festival welcomes animated short films in all techniques and genres. While we have a special focus on author-driven stop motion animation, we also encourage submissions that showcase the diversity of animation techniques and artistic approaches. AI-generated animations are not eligible for submission.
Films selected for the competition programme must not have been broadcast on Estonian television or theatrically released in Estonia.
Films selected for the educational programme should not be widely known to Estonian audiences.
All non-Estonian films must include English subtitles.
The International Competition is open to animated short films from all countries except the Russian Federation. In response to the ongoing war in Ukraine, the festival does not accept films produced or co-produced by state-supported Russian institutions or organisations.
A maximum of two films per individual filmmaker may be submitted.
Submission is free of charge.
All selected films must be available for the festival from 3–10 September 2026.
No screening fee is paid for selected films.
Selected films must be delivered as DCP or high-quality digital file (H264 / MP4).
If the film contains dialogue or on-screen text, please provide one video file with burned-in Estonian or English subtitles, one clean video file with English subtitles as a separate .srt file with correct timecodes.
Submitters of selected films must also provide a synopsis in English, 1–3 high-quality still images (JPEG, 300 dpi), and a trailer in MP4 format.
Travel and accommodation costs are not covered by the festival. However, all invited filmmakers will receive festival accreditation with access to screenings and related events. Our partner hotel offers discounted rates for festival guests.
